Prenuptial Agreements

Prenuptial Agreements

If you are a person who is financially established and has significant assets, you may consider a prenuptial agreement if you are going to get married. A prenuptial agreement is a contract between two persons preparing to get married who desire to agree on what will happen should they divorce in a way that would be different than what Arizona law dictates. Often premarital agreements protect separate assets of the spouse such as a business and also protect the growth of those separate assets. Premarital agreements usually address the issue of spousal maintenance, defining whether spousal maintenance would be awarded and if so, exactly what spousal maintenance would be awarded.
