Children & Custody
In addition to conventional issues involving children and custody, I am one of the few attorneys in town that handle both family law and DCS (Division of Child Safety) cases. The goal in these cases is to get the Department of Child Safety out of your life as quickly as possible.
Divorce
I handle all different types of divorce cases, some fairly simple and some very complicated. Divorce can involve custody of the children, division of property and debts, child support, and alimony (spousal maintenance).
Orders of Protection
Orders of protection are filed without notice to the other parent and move very quickly. I can help you obtain an order of protection, or defend against an order of protection toward dismissal.
Prenuptial Agreements
A prenuptial agreement is a contract between two persons preparing to get married who desire to agree on what will happen should they divorce in a way that would be different than what Arizona law dictates. Often premarital agreements protect separate assets and also protect the growth of those assets.
Paternity
When parents are never married, their disputes are resolved in what is called a Paternity case. This can be somewhat confusing because many couples have no dispute about paternity. Paternity cases involve custody of the children and child support.
Termination of Parental Rights
I represent parents who are trying to terminate the parental rights of the other parent because of extreme circumstances of unfitness. I also defend parents when the state or the other parent is trying to terminate their rights.
